Non-descript character: Where do you love him?
Plot
After his release from prison, mob boss Dwight "The General" Manfredi is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he builds a new criminal empire with a group of unlikely characters. Sylvester Stallone's first starring role in a television series. Dwight & #x27;The General" Manfredi: I don't actually go to church. The opening sequence features various photographic and painted views and Oklahoma landmarks of the New York City landscape: the Sioux Indian chief "Touch the Clouds" statue; He wears a War Bonnet and Bone Choker (breast plate) erected atop the Golden Driller statue of the Brooklyn Bridge on the Statue of Liberty, Route 66 Western Gateway Arch on a Major "Avenue" of Manhattan.
On CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #457 (2022)
in New York City, the borough of Manhattan, which contains a series of numbered "Avenues." which are crossed by smaller numbered streets. I watched this out of curiosity, I didn't have high expectations, I was just surprised to see Stallone in a TV series. You can feel the tension in the scenes and they seem pretty realistic as the plot would require. I wouldn't say it's funny, but some of the funny scenes are due to Dwight (Stallone) being released from his 25 year prison sentence and they're not fully integrated into the way the world works now; so I assume the sudden transition will cause some interesting bugs for him and for us.
I'm glad someone told him how to use Uber, it was funny while it lasted
It's a pretty clever script, but not in a strongly witty way that bodes well. Obviously Stallone is a huge presence, but the rest of the cast seems pretty good. The show literally feels like you took the thugs written for an early 90's movie and just threw them into 2022 and it's a good mix of humor and violence. I thought this was going to be a throwaway show like some of the Stallone movies lately; mostly just relying on his name and performances, but Taylor Sheridan does a good job here and writes worthy of Stallone's performances.
If it continues this good, if it gets better it will be awesome
I think it will be fun to watch the macho Stallone build a criminal empire from scratch in the middle of nowhere, Tulsa. I love how he sometimes has that gritty western vibe while still being a mobster. I think the show will eventually fly under the radar and then later might get some hype from people asking why it hasn't been picked up sooner because I haven't seen much publicity from Paramount. I went in with no high expectations, but judging by the first episode, it could be a really fun watch.
I'll rate as more episodes come out and update if anything drastically changes in the show
