Hugh Jackman said that he was indeed done playing the character of Wolverine after Logan (2017)
Plot
Deadpool is given a place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by the Time Variance Authority, but instead recruits a variant of Wolverine to save his universe from extinction. He then said he regretted that statement after watching the first Deadpool movie and expressed to Ryan his interest in the two characters meeting on the big screen. When asked why he chose to return for this film, he simply said, "I just wanted to do it and I felt it in my gut," adding that he wanted to have the best time ever on a movie set with Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds also wanted to work with Jackman since the first Deadpool movie and was saddened when he (Jackman) pulled out of the role.
Fox killed him
hours during their conversation.. Elliot Chipman: This is Deadpool. Kevin Chipman: This is Wolverine. Deadpool: You're so damn honest.
Disney brought it back
They'll make him do this until he's 90.. “Nicepool”; is credited to Ryan Reynolds' fictional twin brother Gordon Reynolds. Only You (and You Alone) (re-recorded)Written by Buck Ram and Buck Ram (as Ande Rand)Performed by The Platters Courtesy of Cleopatra Records By arrangement with The Orchard. Wade Wilson, full of wit and wisdom, has finally put his mercenary days behind him, but is experiencing something of a midlife crisis as he struggles to adjust to his regular civilian existence.
An acquired taste, yes, but one you won't regret tuning into
After learning from a higher authority that his universe is in danger, Wade retools his suit as a katana-wielding merc with a mouth for an important mission, one that requires him to recruit Wolverine - the mutant breeder with forks for hands. Bloody, loud, irreverent, extremely profane and unashamed, this could not have been done with anything other than an 'R' rating because it revels in political incorrectness, with innuendo, overt violence, necrophilia, and just about every other imaginable inappropriate thing with gusto and glee, featuring a modern soundtrack as an added bonus. With shades of old Marvel, it remains to be seen whether or not this becomes the elixir for the fading MCU, and while the plot is all over the place, it's still fun to watch thanks to a lot of memorable elements. characters, highlighted by the dynamic between Reynolds and Jackman who make the ideal duo in the kind of superhero buddy movie where you're constantly aggravating someone.
